Unlocking the potential of JWST, Euclid, and SKA – high-z galaxy evolution and cosmology

The upcoming years will see a revolution in our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution thanks to new facilities like JWST, EUCLID and SKA, that will open new observational windows either in wavelength or redshift coverage. The handling of the huge amount of data expected represents a new critical challenge for modern astrophysics. Theoretical models play a fundamental role in this framework, providing the physical ground for the interpretation of data in a cosmological context. Despite enormous improvements in the last decades, such models exhibit already some tensions with the most recent observational data and early results from JWST, although it is unclear if the problem lies in the interpretation or in model predictions. This program brings together observers and theorists engaged in projects based on the GAlaxy Evolution and Assembly (GAEA) semi-analytic model of galaxy formation.
