Enabling DR1 Euclid Clusters Cosmology
IFPU
14 – 21 July 2025
The Euclid cluster survey will map the large-scale structure of the Universe and trace cosmic growth up to zā¼2, helping to shed light on the nature of dark energy and dark matter. With the acquisition and reduction of the data from the first release (DR1), the mission is approaching a pivotal phase. This focus week aims to bring together key contributors from the LE3-CG, involved in the definition of the cluster catalog, and members of the cluster cosmology and weak lensing Euclid work packages within the Clusters of Galaxies Science Working Group, to test and refine methodologies and pipelines for the analysis of the DR1 dataset. The meeting will start on Monday, July 14th at 10:00 AM and end on Friday, July 18th at lunchtime.
The main activities we foreseen for this focus week are:
Pipeline Stress Testing: The focus week will be devoted to testing the different components of the cluster cosmology pipelines ā cluster counts, clustering, and stacked tangential shear profiles ā under realistic conditions. This will allow us to identify any issues with the pipeline and ensure that it is capable of processing Euclid data at scale.
Finalizing Theoretical Modeling: With access to the DR1 data, we can refine the theoretical models, test key assumptions, and improve the robustness of our cosmological interpretations. Having all key participants in one place will expedite the process of finalizing models for immediate application to DR1 data.
This focus week will be organized as a hands-on meeting, with a limited number of talks to present the data products, current pipeline status, and highlight areas needing attention. The bulk of the time will be organized in parallel working sessions, focusing on: collaborative debugging, troubleshooting, performance improvements in the pipeline, discussions and tests of theoretical modeling. The last session of each day will be reserved for group reconvening to report progress and prompt cross-team discussions.
Throughout the week, there will be time set aside for informal discussions, brainstorming, fostering a highly collaborative environment.
The meeting is restricted to Euclid Collaboration members
